Behind tango.blue are two people who have each gone toe-to-toe with the world at the frontier of music, recording and technology. The tango scene of Buenos Aires and modern recording and software engineering — fields that rarely meet — come together here as one.

Kotaro Asahina · 朝比奈 幸太郎
Studied ethnomusicology at music university and worked as a pianist across the Nordic countries and Europe. His first album was produced in Cologne, Germany with Achim Tang, where he learned the fundamentals of acoustics from Stephan Desire.
Back in Japan he apprenticed in the lineage of Kaneda-style DC recording, inheriting full DC recording technique and current-transmission theory. He then founded the art studio Pinocoa, producing Argentine tango, classical and early music from around the world.
He went on to learn C / GPS (RTK) from Kazuhide Kobayashi of Geosense and video technique from Koji Murakami of Murakami Archives, becoming a creator who works across sound, image and technology. He restores vintage gear such as Revox and designs and builds his own microphones, the P-86S and X-86S, also releasing work through the healing-audio brand Curanz Sounds.
In 2026, as the head of Kuon R&D, he is building a platform without equal anywhere in the world — integrating acoustic engineering, software, hardware and musical art. He designs and implements this very tango.blue single-handedly, from the frontend up.

Shino Onaga · 大長 志野
A graduate of Osaka College of Music who, after working in Japan, moved to Buenos Aires, the home of tango.
A rare Japanese tango pianist, recognized by the maestro José Colángelo — once a star of the Aníbal Troilo orchestra — with the words “you are now one of us,” taking a place among those whose names are written into the history of tango.
In 2018, leading the orchestra “Barrio Shino” on a successful nationwide tour, with Roberto Álvarez of the legendary Color Tango guesting on the debut album “Festejando” — earning profound trust from local musicians.
Also performing in stage productions such as “Borges y Yo” (starring Andrea Bonelli) and “la gran ilusión,” continuing to embody tradition and innovation at the very front of the Buenos Aires arts scene.
